Ahh...

So, Wednesday I had my internship. It went really well and now I find that the best days (besides the weekend) are at my internship and not at class. That night I hung out with a couple of friends. I met some of their guy friends and it was going pretty good but then one just turned into a really big jerk (the first one I've met here). So I left, because I figure I'm only here for 4 months and I don't want to spend it with anyone who's a jerk. On Thursday I had lecture from 10:30-12:30. Luckily we watched a film; it was pretty good but I just could not keep my eyes open. In the afternoon we went to the World Bank to see an author you knew Chico Mendes and wrote a book about him. Although it was nice to see the emotion of the author, it had nothing to do with us or what we are learning. It was a huge waste of time. Friday, again I had my internship. After I went to happy hour with a couple of people from class (I sat and ate appetizers since I can't drink) and then we all headed to a big global warming conference at George Washington University that our Professor is making us attend. I was pretty disappointed because what they all said everyone already knew; f we weren't interested in global warming we wouldn't have gone. But later Mike from my class said that it's all going in segments so last night was the first opener to get us scared, while the next parts will be more focused on different areas. Today I'm skipping the first half of the conference to go to a big against the Iraq War rally. I'm so excited. This is the stuff I came to D.C. to experience.
